Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you are enjoying a restful and enjoyable half-term.
February half-term marks the middle of the academic year and I could not be more impressed with the pupils as they reach the second half of the academic year. The Year 7s have settled in to secondary life incredibly well and are making huge academic progress. The Year 11s did us proud over the last two weeks in their final sets of mocks and I am looking forward to sharing results with them and you at Y11 Parents' Evening on March 5th.
Many of our community are now celebrating Ramadan so I wish you and your families "Ramadan Mubarak". Please see the notices below if you haven't yet told us that you are coming to our Community Iftar (all families of all faiths and none are welcome!).
If you haven't yet told us about your child's intention to fast then please complete the form below to avoid being charged for school meals. Ramadan Questionaire 2026 – Fill out form
I wish you an enjoyable remainder of the half-term break.
Kind regards,
Mr Neuberger
This Week's Highlights
This week saw the second and final performance of Romeo and Juliet, this time here on home turf. With complete commitment (and some creative adlibbing) from the cast this performance somehow improved upon their great work at Questor’s last week. Parents, teachers and friends commented on the cast’s depth of understanding of their lines and how they were able to bring the text to life in a thoroughly funny and suitably tragic interpretation of Shakespeare’s classic. We couldn’t be prouder of all their hard work. A huge thank you to everyone who came to support on the night, giving the students the packed audience they deserved! Well done everyone and we can’t wait to see next year’s show.
On Saturday 7 February, our history department hosted the third Ark Soane History Conference. 150 history teachers from across the country travelled to Acton to take part, coming from as far away as Devon and the North East. The event was a great success as in previous years, with visitors being particularly impressed by our pupil volunteers as well as the many workshops. It shows that (as your children will confirm!) history teaching at Ark Soane is at the cutting edge of what is happening in schools across the country.
The Year 9 Boys Football team demonstrated great endurance and determination in their match against Twyford this week. Despite the weather conditions, the boys drew 2-2 and unfortunately lost the penalty shoot-out 5-3. Adam was named Man of the Match with a spectacular goal!

RSHE consultation – Mon 2nd Mar
As a part of your child’s education at Ark Soane, we promote personal wellbeing and development through a comprehensive Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education programme. PSHE education is the curriculum subject that gives young people the knowledge to live safe, healthy lives. As part of this, schools have a statutory obligation to teach students relationships and sex education. This is to prepare students for relationships of all kinds in the modern world. As a school community, we are committed to working in partnership with parents and are required to consult on the curriculum.
We will be hosting a meeting in-school as part of this consultation from 17:00 – 17:30 on Monday 2nd March. If you would be interested in attending this meeting, please complete the MS Form here no later than Thursday 26th Feb, 7PM: https://forms.office.com/e/GtRDP6387i
