Dear Parents and Carers
I have been so impressed by the pupils return: after a two-week Easter Break they have returned to Soane working harder than ever. Please continue to support the pupils to be successful at school by ensuring they have good sleep routines, remain on top of their homework and that their uniform and equipment is all ready for the week ahead.
Over the past week we have been busy recruiting for next year's expansion. We expect to have over 1000 pupils in the school in September. Despite a national teacher shortage we have managed to recruit a team of exceptionally talented and skillful teachers - who are not only incredibly bright - they have also demonstrated a real love for working with children and a passion for the subject that they teach.
It is only down to your appreciation of Soane staff and the pupils' immaculate behaviour, effort, politeness and gratitude that we have continued to be able to beat the odds to recruit such outstanding teachers. Thank you.
Our French and Spanish GCSE speaking exams start this week - please wish pupils luck. GCSE written exams will start on 11th May and end of year exams for Y7-10 will will take place from 16th-26th June. I have been so impressed to see so many pupils in younger years already starting their revision.
I wish you an enjoyable remainder of the weekend.
Mr Neuberger
This Week's Highlights
What a fantastic start to summer term! As usual there have been some amazing pieces coming out of the art department this week, particularly from our Year 10 artists who are tackling themes of identity and culture.
Our first cohort of Year 10s to benefit from the Future Frontiers work experience and corporate mentoring programme were lucky enough to receive work experience careers coaching this week! Many budding business people and corporate bigwigs among them.
There has been plenty of fun and hard work in class too! Check out these PowerPoint presentations from our Year 7s who are learning about them for the first time.
