This Week's Highlights
Our Year 8s were lucky enough to receive a visit from the Orwell society this week (one day before their Animal Farm exam, no less)! The Orwell society is a renowned organization that brings George Orwell's work alive to people across the world through talks, trips and school engagement. We were so fortunate to have Mr. Dear join us as a distinguished member of the Orwell Society, who has study journalism and writing himself in addition to his scholarly work on Orwell. Year 8 had a wonderful time in their assembly and have left even more inspired by Orwell and his legacy.
Some sporting success this week! A great 4-3 win for the Year 9 boys football team against Heathland ahead of the cup final on Sunday. Goal scorers were Alex, Platon, Yunis & a screamer from Adam T. Shout out to Year 8's Micah for stepping up to play as our goalkeeper for the year above. Well done team!
Finally, there has been lots of fun in enrichment this week - some of our Year 8 students have been cooking up a storm, making delicious couscous and fruit salad. It was even the first time cooking for some and they all blew us away!

Coins for Change
Every year millions of pounds of foreign currency sit unused in people's homes. Most can't be exchanged because it's too low in value or a mix of currencies.
Coins for Change is a social enterprise which provides an easy way for the school community to turn spare coins and notes into real impact.
A collection tin is in reception for parents and carers to donate their spare change. There will also by a tin at the Second Hand Uniform Sale in July. We are kindly requesting that students do not bring in money for donations.
Please see more details below.
