Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for all your messages of support over the past week. While we were all hot and sticky through the lengthy heatwave - we managed to keep learning and maintained strong attendance and full opening through the week. We could not have done that without your support. Please remember that uniform expectations return to normal this week and all pupils should be wearing blazers and ties.
Thank you also for the support that you have provided to your children over the last two weeks of exams. Pupils have felt exceptionally well-prepared, appreciative of the support they have received and understanding of what they need to do to achieve even greater success in future exams. I couldn't be prouder of them.
As we go into the final 3 weeks of term we have lots of celebrations: a fete, a concert, a sports day and multiple trips. Outside of these events lessons and homework will continue at our normal pace - school time is too valuable for us to do anything else. Please support your child by ensuring they remain on top of their homework as we go into the end of the school year.
Warm temperatures and longer evenings can lead to pupils gathering and creating issues for themselves and others at the end of the school day. Please ensure that you are aware of your child's whereabouts at the end of the school day, that they are going straight home from school and that pupils are changing out of their uniform if out in the afternoon/evening.
Please remember that every child is legally required to attend through to the end of term. We do not want any children missing valuable curriculum time or our important community activities which will continue all the way through to dismissal at 12.45 on 17th July.
This week we have our fete on Thursday. This will kick off at 2pm and ticketed parents are welcome to join us. Children not staying for the fete will be dismissed at 2pm and will need to make their way straight home. School will be closed to all pupils for INSET day on Friday.
I hope you enjoy the remainder of the weekend.
This Week's Highlights
The students and staff of Ark Soane have been beating the heat this week! Hats, sunglasses, fans and lots and lots of water have kept us going through this historic heatwave. Hard work does not stop for heat, and neither does fun, as you can see below...

Coins for Change
If you are a parent attending the Summer Fete on the 2nd of July, you can bring any spare foreign currency you have to the Soane Parent's Association stall, where they are collecting for Coins for Change. Coins for Change is a social enterprise which provides an easy way for the school community to turn spare coins and notes into real impact, bringing money into the school community.
For more information about Coins for Change see previous bulletins.
