Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you are having a great weekend. Next week is the final week of normal school before we go into trips and celebrations in the final week of the year.
England plays Mexico tonight at 1am. While we all hoped for a 6pm kick-off - FIFA have decided to stick with the original time. We strongly recommend that pupils do not stay up to watch the game - as normal, on time attendance is expected for all pupils tomorrow morning.
On Thursday we celebrated the year with our third Summer Fete. It is such a highlight of the Soane calendar and a great opportunity to see the pupils demonstrating real independence, showing off their school with pride and sharing their gratitude with their teachers. Thanks to all staff and parents who ran stalls, to the music team for phenomenal entertainment and all who joined us on Thursday. We are already looking forward to the Summer 2027 Fete!
With 2 weeks of term left we have lots more to celebrate: a concert this week and trips, a sports day and celebrations in the final week. Outside of these events lessons and homework will continue at our normal pace - school time is too valuable for us to do anything else. Please support your child by ensuring they remain on top of their homework as we go into the end of the school year.
Please remember that every child is legally required to attend through to the end of term. We do not want any children missing valuable curriculum time or our important community activities which will continue all the way through to dismissal at 12.45 on 17th July. Term will start on Friday 4th September for incoming Y7s, Monday 7th September for Y12, Tuesday 8th September for Y11s (Academic Review Day) and Wednesday 9th September for Y8-10. Please ensure that your child is ready and prepared for the start of term.
This week we have our Concert on Thursday. We would be delighted to see as many parents as possible - please see details below.
To support preparation for September school will finish for all pupils at 1.50 on Friday. There will be no after-school clubs running.
I hope you enjoy the remainder of the weekend.
Kind regards,
Mr Neuberger
This Week's Highlights
The highlight not only of the week but of the term so far is absolutely our annual Summer Fete. The sun was shining on all the amazing activities around the yard. From hook-a-duck, to limbo, to penalty shoot outs (and enough ice lollies to feed a small nation) it was wall-to-wall fun! Check out some best bits below...
They may be the oldest and most serious in the school now, but even Year 10 were getting involved. Who doesn't love facepaint?

Remember those ice lollies I mentioned? They were giving Year 7 plenty of energy even at the tail end of a long school year...
- Image
It wasn't just the teachers at the face paint stand flexing their artistic muscles. There were plenty more opportunities, from pebble painting to calligraphy, for students with skills to show off...

Students may attend if in full uniform, with a ticket, and accompanied by a parent. Phones will be confiscated if seen on the night.
Performances will start promptly at 5:15PM; due to how the night is staged we are unable to admit latecomers, so please arrive at 5PM to avoid disappointment.
Uniform sale
Reminder for all parents and carers!
Our Second-Hand Uniform Sale is taking place Friday 10 July, 3:00pm–5:00pm. Come along to pick up quality pre-loved school uniform at great prices, while helping to raise funds for our school.
We're also collecting foreign coins and notes through the Coins for Change donation box. If you have any leftover holiday currency at home that you no longer need, please bring it along and drop it in.
All proceeds from both the uniform sale and foreign currency donations are collected by the SPA (Soane Parents Association) and go directly to the school to help fund extra-curricular opportunities and enrich the school experience for all our children.
Thank you for your continued support – we look forward to seeing you on Friday!
